GFRP mesh

**GFRP mesh** is a ready-made grid of interwoven glass fiber reinforced polymer strands. It is used to reinforce concrete slabs, floors, walls and other structural elements, and it replaces steel mesh or loose bars. Like GFRP rebar, it doesn’t rust, so it suits marine, humid and chemically aggressive environments. It is also lightweight and non-conductive, which makes it easier to carry and place and suitable for electromagnetically sensitive sites such as MRI rooms, laboratories and power stations. Because the grid arrives pre-formed, it can speed up installation, and the manufacturer says it reduces overlap costs. The same mesh format is also used for physical protection, such as the company’s protection net for sensitive facilities. GFRP has a different elastic modulus from steel and no yield point, so mesh spacing, thickness, overlap lengths and cover must be set by a licensed structural engineer under the applicable code. The claims of strength above steel, about 80% lower weight and savings of 30-60% come from the manufacturer and apply to its product line in general. Verify them against test certificates and local standards before relying on them in design or pricing. More at [7stargfrp.com](https://www.7stargfrp.com/).

GFRP Rebar Compared to Steel Rebar

Advantages of GFRP Rebar Compared to Steel Rebar: A Professional Guide for Engineers, Contractors and Developers Steel bars have reinforced concrete for decades, but they corrode. Rust expands, cracks the surrounding concrete and shortens the life of the structure. GFRP (glass fiber reinforced polymer) rebar solves the problem at its root. This guide covers seven…
